POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Electrical Foreman will oversee and lead electrical projects within the commercial construction sector. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of electricians and other construction workers. The ideal candidate will ensure that all electrical work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of electrical projects
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians and apprentices, ensuring they follow project plans and safety protocols
  • Quality Control: Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with codes
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to identify root causes of breakdowns and correct problems
  • Material Management: Order and maintain the necessary materials and supplies for the projects
  • Documentation: Maintain records of work performed, including project progress, changes, and completion details
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure all project requirements and expectations are met
  • Training and Development: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members and apprentices

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as an electrician, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within commercial construction
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid journeyman or master electrician license required; OSHA certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Familiarity with power distribution, transformers, control wiring, and commercial installations
  • Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard prevention
  • Power and control wiring installation
  • Electrical system troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Crew supervision and team building
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and other trades
  • Direct and coordinate daily operations of electricians, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time
  • Guarantee that all installations meet industry codes and standards
  • Diagnose electrical issues quickly and implement effective solutions
  • Work seamlessly with other trades and project managers to keep projects on track

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bending/kneeling/lifting/climbing
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
  • Prolonged standing
  • Pushing and pulling
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work for extended periods in various positions
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as reaching, twisting, and gripping
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around loud noise, dust, and construction activity

IT REQUIREMENTS:

  • General knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Technology
  • Teams/SharePoint/Outlook for Email/Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • ProCore
  • SAGE and all sage Programs
  • General ability to utilize cellular phone/iPad or Tablet/Laptop for Work Purposes

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
