The High School Library Media Specialist serves as a dynamic instructional leader, information specialist, and
program administrator. Transforming the library into a 21st-century learning community that fosters a culture of
innovation (Shire Fire) and inclusivity (CARES). You will empower students to become critical thinkers,
enthusiastic readers, and ethical users of information while managing modern technology and traditional
resources.
Responsibilities include:
Digital Citizenship: Teach students about internet safety, data privacy, and the ethical use of information.
Makerspace: Oversee the school's Makerspace, encouraging hands-on learning, design thinking, and creative
problem-solving.
Inventory & Purchasing: Maintain a diverse, high-interest print and digital collection.
Circulation: Manage the automated circulation system, ensuring equitable access to resources for all students
and staff.
