Food Service Specialist
As a Food Service Specialist, you will deliver measurable results in assisting the Kitchen Manager in providing healthy and nutritious school lunches that meet all state and federal requirements for an approved school lunch or à la carte menu. This is a 3-hour/day, school-year position.

Qualifications
Love what you do—working to provide healthy and nutritious school lunches to all RSU 21 students. Must have a high school diploma and/or G.E.D., sanitation certification, and a minimum of two years of food service experience. Must demonstrate organizational skills and have the physical ability to meet the demands of the job. All employees must hold a valid DOE fingerprinting certification.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Comply with district and school policies, rules, regulations, schedules, and goals.
Prepare food according to planned menus and tested, uniform recipes; ensure finished products meet standards of quality, flavor, and appearance before serving.
Record all food requisitions from the storeroom and maintain meal records.
Help maintain accurate monthly inventories of cooking and baking supplies.
Check food shipments upon delivery and sign invoices only after verification.
Collaboration
Create and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the general public.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality food service operations.
Order, through the Kitchen Manager, all necessary supplies weekly.
Report to the Kitchen Manager any faulty or inferior food products received.
Immediately report to the Kitchen Manager any problems or incidents in the kitchen or cafeteria area.
Participate daily in cleaning all kitchen equipment, including washing and sterilizing dishes, utensils, and cookware.
Perform related duties as required, including duties at special meal functions.
Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Services Director.
