With a lean 9-person team (2 attorneys, 7 staff), this is a high-autonomy, high-accountability environment where every person's work is visible and meaningful.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opening at a respected Boulder boutique — a genuine succession-planning hire with a realistic 3–5 year path to equity partnership. You'll work directly alongside the managing partner, own a full docket from intake through verdict or settlement, and operate with the independence of a seasoned litigator in a firm that takes every case seriously.

What You'll Do

• Serve as first-chair trial attorney on plaintiff-side PI cases including motor vehicle accidents, TBIs, and complex injury matters
• Own a full caseload independently from intake through verdict or settlement, supported by paralegals
• Work directly with the managing partner to uphold a 50 year reputation for quality outcomes and client-first representation
• Draft high-quality motions, briefs, and demand letters
• Develop and execute negotiation and settlement strategies that maximize client recovery
• Build your own book of business over time with a meaningful origination bonus structure
• Contribute to a realistic partnership track at an established firm with no political barriers to advancement

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $175,000–$225,000 (commensurate with experience and book of business)
• Origination Bonus: 1/3 of the firm's fee on any self-originated case generating $100,000 in fees
• Production Expectation: 3x base salary in fees generated ($525,000–$650,000)

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 7 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
• First-chair trial experience with verdicts obtained — this is non-negotiable
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload independently
• Strong legal writing skills (motions, briefs, demand letters)
• Proven negotiation and settlement strategy expertise
• JD from an accredited law school
• Colorado bar admission or eligibility to waive in
• Ability to provide writing samples and a verdict list
• Self-sufficient, collaborative, client-first personality

Nice to Have:

• Experience with TBI or complex injury cases
• Business development or client origination track record
• Small firm or boutique practice background
• Active CTLA or AAJ membership/involvement
