Position Summary
RSI is recruiting for a Production Center Specialist who will provide mail room services; ensures the timely and accurate reproduction of printed materials; coordinates production of work orders, reviews copyright materials; determines equipment repair schedule; maintains supply inventory and resolves customer service issues for the Copy Center.
Job Title: Production Center Specialist
Location(s): Grand Junction, CO
Status: Full-Time
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hiring Range: $26.44 to $31.25 per hour. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)
This position is required to travel less than 5% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as customer services contact for the Copy Center.
- Develop and implement procedures for the Copy Center.
- Screen material to ensure compliance with applicable copyright laws and informs faculty and staff of any copyright issues.
- Ensure proper formatting and alignment of files for print.
- Schedule and prioritize work assignments for Copy Center.
- Main operator for production of materials at the Copy Center.
- Operate high volume printing equipment, identifies equipment problems, performs minor repairs to printing equipment including clearing copier jams, changing in cartridges and toner, or arranges for repair service.
- Perform related work such as scanning, collating, assembling, stuffing, punching, laminating as needed.
- Finish all jobs by folding, cutting, padding, saddle stitching, binding, and/or shrink wrapping.
- Maintain records and spreadsheets for all transactions.
- Provide monthly reports to and verify charge code information.
- Maintain logs for department copiers.
- Order and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Oversee paper and plastics recycling programs for work area.
- Provide mailroom services including process sporting and delivering.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Experience in lieu of education considered.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. Experience operating high volume printing and finishing equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License

- Operate and maintain high volume printing and finishing equipment.
- Learn and apply the rules and policies of the Copy Center Department.
- Learn new procedures and the operation of new equipment quickly.
- Work independently with a minimal supervision.
- Follow and give oral and written instructions.
- Maintain effective working relationships.
- Interact in a helpful, courteous, and friendly manner.

Essential Physical Requirements
Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
