Who You Are
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dermatology team as a Dermatologist RN. The ideal candidate will support the dermatologist in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with medical and cosmetic dermatologic procedures, providing patient education, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. This role requires a strong clinical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
What You'll Do
- Assist the dermatologist with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions, laser treatments, cryotherapy, chemical peels)
- Prepare patients for procedures, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and ensuring informed consent
- Administer medications and injections (e.g., local anesthesia, biologics, corticosteroids) as directed
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and suture removals
- Provide patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, skincare routines, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ensure sterile field setup and instrument sterilization in compliance with infection control standards
- Triage patient calls and concerns, including prescription refills, test results, and follow-up instructions
- Monitor inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and organized
- Support clinical staff and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered work environment
What You Bring
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State]
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience (dermatology, plastics, or aesthetic medicine strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in assisting with dermatologic procedures and use of EMR systems
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with a patient-first attitude
- Six months of Dermatology back office experience REQUIRED.
- MUST be able to Scribe in EMA/ModMed EHR,
- Surgical assisting experience preferred, but not required.
- Cosmetic procedures/product sales a plus, but not required.
- Set up and sanitize exam rooms, clean instruments.
- Must have great rapport with other staff and patients.
- Maintain Pathology Logs/call back patients with results.
