Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and business-minded Real Estate Attorney with 3–7 years of commercial real estate transactional experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing investors, developers, owners, lenders, and operators in complex commercial real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on multifamily, mixed-use, and other income-producing properties.
This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development matters while collaborating with a highly regarded team of attorneys serving clients across a broad range of real estate asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing transactions, development projects, exchanges, and related matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, amendments, easements, development agreements, loan documents, closing documents, and other transaction-related agreements.
- Manage transactions from inception through closing, including due diligence, title and survey review, preparation of transaction documents, closing coordination, and post-closing matters.
- Advise clients on legal and business issues arising in commercial real estate transactions, including risk allocation, financing structures, contingencies, closing conditions, and practical deal considerations.
- Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, surveyors, brokers, consultants, and opposing counsel to facilitate successful transactions.
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's business, land use, finance, tax, and litigation practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and practical, business-focused legal advice.
- Take increasing responsibility for managing matters independently while contributing to a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 3–7 years of substantive commercial real estate transactional experience at a law firm, real estate company, or similar legal environment.
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, and development-related agreements.
- Strong understanding of title, survey, due diligence, financing, leasing, and closing processes.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and a practical, client-service-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience representing owners, developers, investors, private equity groups, or lenders in multifamily and commercial real estate transactions.
- Familiarity with real estate finance, joint ventures, development projects, and 1031 exchanges.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and work effectively in a fast-paced transactional practice.
