How you'll make an impact
As a Transportation Underwriter focused on renewals, you will:
- Renewal Management:
- Underwrite and manage renewal policies for transportation clients, ensuring compliance with RPS underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Analyze existing accounts to assess risk exposure, pricing adequacy, and coverage needs.
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing for renewals.
- Risk Assessment:
- Conduct detailed risk evaluations for transportation businesses, including trucking, logistics, and fleet operations.
- Review loss histories, safety protocols, and operational practices to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Client and Broker Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering tailored solutions.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all underwriting decisions comply with regulatory requirements and RPS policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all renewal accounts.
- Collaboration and Strategy:
- Partner with the underwriting team to develop strategies for portfolio growth and profitability.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the transportation sector.
About You
Required: Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience, preferably in the transportation or commercial insurance sector.
- Proven expertise in managing renewal accounts and assessing transportation risks.
