About the Role
RPS Capitla Management is seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Investments & Business Development Associate to join our team. Working directly alongside the firm's founder, this role offers broad exporsure across commercial real estate investments, 1031 exchanges, asset management, business development, and real estate financial analysis.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in commercial real estate acquisitions or asset management. The successful candidate will play an integral role in expanding business development efforts, evaluating investment opportunities, supporting client transactions, and helping scale an entrepreneurial real estate investment firm.
Responsibilities
- Source new business opportunities through networking, strategic outreach, referrals, and industry events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, developers, lenders, and family offices.
- Research prospective clients, referrals, investors, and acquisition opportunities.
- Assist in preparing investment presentations and business development materials.
- Record prospect details and maintain the firm's Hubspot account and business development pipeline.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create and deliver clear, persuasive presentations for investors and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with the administration and coordination of active 1031 exchange transactions.
- Represent RPS Capital Management at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Coordinate active 1031 exchange transactions from identification through closing
- Monitor transaction timelines and ensure compliance with IRS deadlines
- Coordinate with attorneys, qualified intermediaries, brokers, lenders, and title companies.
- Maintain transaction documentation with client communications.
- Assist with lease negotiations and asset management initiatives.
- Proficiency in market research, including analysis of real estate trends, comparable properties, and investment opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, economics, or a related field; relevant internships or 0–3 years of professional experience in real estate or investment-related roles is a plus.
- Strong interest in commercial real estate, real estate investing, and business development.
- Excellent interpersonal and realtionship-building skills.
- Real Estate License in New York or willingness to obtain the same.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and competitive spirit.
- Strong analytical and finacial modeling skills.
- Advancded Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Ability to interpret financial statements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Entrepreneural mindset with willngness to take ownership.
- Experience with Argus, CoStar, HubSpot or similiar sotware is a plus.
