Job Description:
The Advisor Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering impactful training programs that equip financial advisors to excel in both sales and retirement planning. Working closely with the Directors of Advisory Services, this role tailors training to individual needs while strengthening advisor expertise in retirement planning, Social Security, Medicare, 401(k) management, sales strategies, and client relationship management. Serving as both content creator and dynamic facilitator, the Specialist drives measurable performance improvements by providing advisors with the skills, tools, and confidence to protect and grow the firm’s business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program tailored to both Sales and Planning advisors.
- Facilitate live and virtual training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching to reinforce advisor learning and application.
- Create and maintain training materials for Retirement Planners focused on:
- Protecting the firm’s book of business
- Developing client relationships
- Driving wallet share and referral growth
- Create and maintain training materials for Sales Advisors focused on:
- Converting marketing leads to clients
- Mastering closing techniques
- Building long-term client trust from first interaction
- Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and adapt programs based on feedback, advisor performance, and evolving business needs.
- Gain deep expertise in our business model, processes, and compliance standards to ensure training is practical, accurate, and aligned with firm strategy.
- Attend advisor seminars, client/prospect events, and industry workshops to stay current and translate insights into training opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Service coaches to provide individualized training interventions for advisors as needed.
- Report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, providing regular updates on advisor development progress and training impact.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 7 years of relevant industry experience
Experience & Skills:
- Strong background in financial advising, sales, or client service, with proven success in advisor development
- Experience facilitating training, workshops, or adult learning programs within the financial services industry
- One or more of the following preferred:
- Current IAR designation
- FINRA Series 65, or a combination of Series 66 and Series 7
- Other relevant financial designations
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse personalities and experience levels
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with advisors and leadership
- Attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
