Job Overview
RPM / Royal Property Management is seeking a highly skilled and reliable General Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in apartment and facility maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-minded, customer-service oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across multiple residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, doors, windows, and appliances.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
- Conduct property inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure safe use of tools and equipment.
- Track work completed via digital maintenance systems or logbooks.
- Assist with unit turnovers, including painting, repairs, cleaning, and equipment testing.
- Comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements
- 2 years of maintenance or skilled trade experience (multifamily/apartment experience preferred).
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform accurate repairs efficiently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders, and in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Available for emergency on-call rotation, nights/weekends as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade certifications a plus (EPA, HVAC, etc.)
