Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medication management, including ordering labs, selecting therapies, and managing adverse effects.
- Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosing, and safety.
- Educate patients and caregivers on chemotherapy regimens and medication adherence.
- Collaborate closely with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to guide treatment decisions.
- Participate in oncology clinical trials, manage investigational drugs, and develop institutional protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required.
- Eligibility to obtain California pharmacist licensure.
- PGY2 oncology residency or fellowship, OR PGY1 plus a minimum of 3 years’ clinical specialist experience in oncology, OR at least 5 years as an oncology clinical specialist.
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is highly preferred.
- Proven clinical expertise beyond staffing experience, demonstrating advanced knowledge in oncology pharmacotherapy.
