- Job Title: Traveling Construction Superintendent – Healthcare & Commercial Build-outsLocation: Traveling (Regional/National)Position Type: Full-TimeJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Traveling Construction Superintendent with a strong background in general contracting, hands-on carpentry, and healthcare/medical facility construction. In this role, you will be the lead on-site representative managing daily field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and up to the rigorous standards required of medical environments.Because this role focuses heavily on medical facilities (clinics, labs, and hospital wings), the ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of infection control, dust containment (ICRA protocols), and a keen eye for architectural woodwork and high-end finishes.Key Responsibilities:Site Management: Direct all daily field operations, manage subcontractors, enforce schedules, and coordinate material deliveries to ensure seamless project execution.
- Healthcare Compliance: Implement and strictly monitor ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) protocols, dust barriers, negative air pressure systems, and safety compliance required in occupied or sensitive medical environments.
- Quality Assurance (Carpentry Focus): Utilize your carpentry background to verify structural framing, drywall, doors, hardware, and specialized medical millwork/cabinetry meet absolute precision and quality guidelines.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce OSHA regulations, hold weekly toolbox talks, and maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site.
- Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the project manager, subcontractors, design teams, and healthcare facility managers to address site constraints or scheduling conflicts promptly.
- Qualifications & Experience:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial general contracting, specifically focused on healthcare, hospital, or medical clinic environments.
- Trade Background: Strong, verifiable background in rough and finish carpentry. Must understand construction means, methods, and layout procedures intimately.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of medical-grade materials, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and strict ICRA/ILSM protocols.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is required. ICRA certification or specific healthcare construction credentials (like ASHE) are highly preferred.
- Software: Proficiency with construction management software like Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 100% of the time to project locations. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Preferred QualificationsOSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience managing projects involving emergency power systems, switchgear, and healthcare electrical installations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile project management applications.
