locations)

Position Summary
Roy’zzz is seeking a driven, strategic General Manager to lead all retail operations across its
current and future dispensaries in South Dakota and Minnesota. This role is responsible for
overseeing performance, store startups, remodels, staffing, compliance, and brand
consistency across locations. The General Manager will report to the CEO and travel
weekly between dispensary sites to provide hands-on support.
Immediate priorities include:
• Opening a new store by end of year (EoY 2025)
• Managing two store remodels
• Supporting buildout of two floor plans for upcoming locations
• Overseeing reward and loyalty program implementation
• Aligning operations with the company’s brand identity and marketing goals
This is a strategic, high-impact leadership role with a fast timeline (ASAP start) to support
aggressive growth and regional scaling.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations & Store Growth
• Lead operations at existing stores and prepare for new dispensary openings in Sioux
Falls and Minnesota
• Travel weekly to dispensary locations to oversee day-to-day execution, training, and
compliance
• Manage store startup plans, including floor plan reviews, vendor coordination, and
opening timelines
• Supervise remodel projects for two locations, ensuring timely execution and brand
consistency
• Collaborate on the implementation of store technology, including point-of-sale
systems, customer-facing apps, and operational tools
Leadership & Staff Development
• Directly manage store managers and help them build high-performing teams
• Hire, train, and onboard new leadership and staff in alignment with startup and
growth plans
• Provide coaching and support across locations to drive accountability, consistency,
and team culture
Customer Experience & Loyalty Programs
• Launch and oversee reward and loyalty programs, both in-store and digitally via app
integration
• Partner with the Marketing Coordinator to promote campaigns, specials, and brand
activations
• Maintain customer service standards that reflect the Roy’zzz lifestyle and values
Business Performance & KPI Management
• Set and track KPIs across all stores (sales goals, transaction value, labor costs,
inventory turnover)
• Analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making and drive
profitability
• Work with the CEO and finance team to align budgets, forecasts, and resource
planning
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure ongoing compliance with South Dakota and Minnesota cannabis
regulations, including METRC reporting
• Standardize and enforce operational procedures, safety protocols, and inventory
controls
• Conduct regular audits and support store teams in maintaining documentation and
certifications
Branding, Marketing & Community Relations
• Ensure brand alignment across store environments, marketing materials, product
mix, and customer service
• Support the Marketing Coordinator in executing local campaigns and promotional
events
• Represent Roy’zzz at local and state industry events, and build community
partnerships across SD & MN
Basic Qualifications
• Must be 21 years old per cannabis regulations in SD & MN
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel weekly across multiple locations
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• 3 years in retail, hospitality, or cannabis leadership
• 3 year overseeing multiple locations or managing large teams
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent professional/life experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Cannabis industry or startup experience strongly preferred
• Familiar with South Dakota and Minnesota cannabis laws and compliance systems
• Proficient in METRC and retail/POS software systems
• Experience launching reward/loyalty programs, apps, or new retail tech tools
• Ability to manage marketing and branding execution across regions
• Skilled in G Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and general digital literacy
Physical Requirements
• Able to sit, stand, walk, and travel for extended periods
• Regular lifting (up to 20 lbs); occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Visual ability for screens, floor plans, and product details
