What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Business Consultant position at Roylo Partners?
Junior Business Consultant
Montgomery, Alabama
Full-time | On-site | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
$52,000-$61,000 per year
Good business decisions usually start with someone who can make a complicated problem clear. We are hiring a Junior Business Consultant in Montgomery to support a growing pipeline of client improvement projects. You will sit in meetings, ask practical questions, map how work currently happens and help turn the evidence into recommendations a client can use. The position is suitable for someone beginning a consulting career, including a recent graduate or a candidate with strong project experience. You do not need to arrive with a finished consultant profile. You do need curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to explain your thinking clearly.
A client problem lands on your desk
1. Listen: join interviews and workshops to understand how the work currently happens.
2. Map: document steps, handoffs, decisions and recurring points of delay.
3. Test: review data and examples to check whether the pattern is real.
4. Recommend: help build a practical solution, implementation plan and client presentation.
Assignments you may support
Projects may involve customer service, team structure, reporting, onboarding, workflow design or basic commercial analysis. You will prepare meeting notes, maintain action logs, clean data, build slides and check that recommendations reflect what the evidence actually shows.
Your starting toolkit
- Comfort with numbers, spreadsheets and structured problem-solving
- Clear writing and confident presentation skills
- Good judgement with confidential business information
- The discipline to check details before sharing work
- A degree, apprenticeship, internship or strong project portfolio is useful
The experience you will build
Each assignment will give you a clearer example of the value you contributed, whether that was finding the source of a delay, improving a report or helping a team adopt a new process. Over time, you will build experience across research, analysis, client communication and implementation rather than supporting presentations without seeing what happens next.
Development and package
You will receive project-method training, a consultant mentor and feedback after each assignment. The salary is $52,000-$61,000 with health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) match, paid leave and reimbursement for approved client travel. The position is full-time and office-based in Montgomery.
If you want to learn consulting through real client work and practical problem-solving, apply through LinkedIn with your current resume.
Applications are considered on role-related skills and experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
