Position Overview
Royal Oak Recycling is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Driver with Bobcat/Skid Steer experience to join our growing Washington operations.
This is a Tacoma-based position servicing dedicated retail recycling routes throughout Central Washington. Drivers operate a late-model sleeper tractor paired with a 53' ramp trailer and Bobcat to collect recyclable materials before returning loads to our Tacoma processing facility.
This position is primarily local and regional. While many routes allow drivers to return home regularly, occasional overnight stays in the company sleeper cab are required when operational workflow, weather conditions, or route efficiency make overnight travel the safest and most effective option.

Primary Service Area
Your assigned routes will primarily service:
- Tacoma, WA (Home Terminal)
- Wenatchee, WA
- Chelan, WA
- Omak, WA
- Ephrata, WA
- Moses Lake, WA
Occasional interstate travel may be required based on business needs.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate a Class A tractor with a 53-foot ramp trailer.
- Operate a Bobcat/Skid Steer to load recyclable materials.
- Secure every load using proper cargo securement procedures.
- Complete DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain electronic logs and required shipping documentation.
- Deliver collected materials safely and efficiently to the Tacoma facility.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance including greasing ramps and Bobcat equipment.
- Report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain clean, organized equipment and a professional appearance.
- Build positive relationships with customers during scheduled collections.
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company, and customer safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Flexible scheduling based on operational needs
- Occasional overnight travel in company sleeper cab required due to weather, route efficiency, or workflow requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience
- 1 year of Bobcat or Skid Steer operating experience
- Experience operating a 53-foot dry van trailer
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening and background check
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to safely travel throughout Washington and occasionally across state lines
Preferred Qualifications
- Route delivery experience
- Recycling or waste industry experience
- Cargo securement knowledge
- Heavy equipment operation
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles.
- Frequently enter and exit truck cab and Bobcat.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, climb, and secure loads safely.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Maintain situational awareness around heavy equipment and loading operations.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on truck, trailer, ramps, and Bobcat equipment.
