Overview
The Cabinet Door Assembler & Fabricator is responsible for building high‑quality custom cabinet doors and components from start to finish. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of woodworking techniques, and the ability to operate shop tools and machinery safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
Duties
- Door Assembly & Fabrication
- Assemble custom cabinet doors using correct joinery (mortise & tenon, cope & stick, mitered doors, etc.).
Machining & Tool Operation
- Operate table saws, jointers, planers, sanders, routers, and shapers.
- Mill lumber and sheet goods to correct thickness, width, and profile.
- Run custom profiles for applied moldings, trim, and specialty millwork pieces.
Quality Control & Finishing Prep
- Inspect all products for defects, gaps, tear‑out, and surface imperfections.
- Sand components and ensure they are ready for staining or painting.
- Verify fitment of panels, hinges, and drawer/door alignment (if applicable).
Workflow & Production
- Follow daily production schedules and meet timelines without sacrificing quality.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager for job updates, adjustments, or design questions.
- Maintain organized workstations and contribute to overall shop cleanliness.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all shop safety policies, including PPE usage and machine lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain safe handling of materials, adhesives, finishes, and tools.
- Fabricate rails, stiles, panels, and custom profiles to meet project specifications.
- Build shaker, raised‑panel, inset, frameless, and specialty door styles as required.
- Confirm door measurements, squareness, and tolerance accuracy before moving components forward.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years woodworking or cabinet manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of woodworking machinery and safe operation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
