- Train personnel in food safety, GMP, SOPs, regulatory compliance, and other technical areas.
- Conduct chemical, ice, and equipment monitoring, and communicate reorder alerts.
- Assist in food safety and quality checks, including aging reports, shelf-life monitoring, and sample collection.
- Prepare product specifications, generate Certificates of Analysis (COA), and manage QA documentation.
- Serve as a backup for QA Leads in tasks like environmental swabbing, sampling, and pre-op checks.
- Track customer complaints, swabbing results, and food safety incidents, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Calibrate lab equipment and provide technical support to operations.
- Make recommendations for improvement and assist with other QA tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance in food manufacturing.
- HACCP, SQF, and PCQI certifications.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality assurance methods, and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and critical situations requiring flexibility.
- 75% of time spent on the plant floor, 25% on administrative work.
- Standard warehouse hazards, including moving equipment and people.
- Regularly required to see, sit, stand, walk, read, type, and hear.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility required, including working beyond business hours, weekends, and rotating shifts.
