Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Product Associate role based in the Naperville, IL. The Legal Product Associate will collaborate with product, legal, and technology teams to translate regulatory and legal requirements into clear product features, workflows, and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing legal and compliance frameworks, assisting in drafting product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and supporting product roadmaps and release plans from a legal and risk perspective. The role will involve conducting research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, preparing internal and client-facing presentations, and contributing to product training materials. The Legal Product Associate will also help coordinate cross-functional projects, track milestones, and support stakeholders to ensure products remain compliant, usable, and aligned with business goals.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal, regulatory, and technical information and translate it into product requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts clearly to legal, technical, and business stakeholders.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in product management, including writing user stories, defining requirements, and supporting product roadmaps.
- Project management capabilities to coordinate cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines, and track deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Information Technology, or a related field; a legal background (LLB/JD or paralegal certification) is an asset.
- Familiarity with technology products, SaaS environments, or digital platforms; prior experience in IT, compliance, or legal tech is preferred.
