A person in Vernon, NJ is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with experience as an LPN to assist them and be a companion for a variety of fun activities that include, but are not limited to getting out into the local community, being out in nature, and being part of a book club. The other part of this role as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) would be to assist the person with Everyday tasks such as; assisting with medication, using their GI tube, and assisting with the bathroom.
The Ideal Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to report to the individual and would be someone who is community minded and understands person centered supports. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) would also have experience as an LPN, which is a must for this position. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) should also be comfortable lifting the individual as part of their role. Schedule of Services:
Twice a week as decided between the Individual and SDE 9am-12pm
Pay rate: per hour
$35
Qualifications:
Must be able to recognize that disability is a label and not a description
Must be an LPN or have worked as one
Must be person centered minded
Staff need to be open minded and come with a positive attitude
Staff must remember that you are working for a person and not a label
Must be 18 years old or older
Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a car
Must have valid driver's license and good driving record
Must be willing to have a background check
Must be willing to take a drug screening
