Direct Support Professionals at Royal Community Support help individuals with developmental disabilities integrate into the community. The DSP must be able to address the dynamic ever-changing needs of the individuals they support and promote a climate of compassion, understanding, and realization of those individual's dreams.
PT Schedule: Tues & Thurs : 11 am-1 pm (6 hrs) very flexible
Location: Ocean County - Lanka Harbor - Lacey Township
Rate of pay : $24 p/hr
Goal: introduce the individual to do things other than playing video games etc. Bowling, visit local establishments, etc. Anything that is fun and engaging for this individual. This is a self-sufficient individual who enjoys cooking and dogs.
Position Overview:
We are actively hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team!
This opportunity is perfect for compassionate, self-motivated, and energetic individual who likes dogs and going on rides and is eager to engage and support the individual and inquire what interests him/her, resourceful with the library and inquiring about community special events or programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist with daily activities and personal goals, promoting independence and community engagement.
Support participation in small outings and community-based activities.
Create and maintain a positive, person-centered approach to care.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
Ability to work legally in the United States.
Comfortable with community-based support and engaging in local outings.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Person-centered mindset with a positive attitude and open-mindedness.
Passionate about working with individuals with disabilities and promoting independence.
