CONTROLLER POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead financial operations and help measure and drive success in a retail and wholesale business. In this role, you would oversee financial operations, manage budgeting and forecasting, assess financial controls, conduct financial analysis, supervise transaction processes, prepare reports for senior management, coordinate with auditors, and mentor the finance team. The position is based in Pomona, CA with once per month travel to our maquiladora operations Tijuana, Mexico. The career path for the candidate would ideally track towards CFO.ABOUT ROYAL CABINETSRoyal Cabinets is a successful long-term leading supplier of premium cabinets and services to the new construction builder and retail trade in Southern California and nearby states. Our team operates in the US and in Mexico, with a combined staff of over 500 employees. Our goal is to create excellent customer experience with our products and services, leading to continual referral driven growth.SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITESOversee accounting activities and department staffers in the US and Mexico. Direct reports are US and Mex accounting manager, billing and payroll staffing.Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financials for management including consolidation and review of Mexican operations (hence the need for Spanish proficiency)Track budgetary performances for key operational departments both in the US and MexicoPublish labor reports weekly and assist with business cost formulasOversee import-export policy and tariff valuations with our maquiladora in Mexico.Identify additional daily KPIs, guide productivity measurements and recommend improvementsAssess and improve ERP and IT systems to refine business intelligenceCoordinate annual inventory and asset valuations and interact with auditorsOversee risk management, insurance and compliance programsMaintain company records, physical and financial historyDevelop staff, talent, training programs and successorsBACKGROUND DESIREDBachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.5-7 years of appropriate experience, preferably in manufacturing or subcontractingStrong knowledge of financial principles and exceptional analytical, excel or SQL skills.Technical proficiency in ERP, financial software, accounting structure and reporting tools.Excellent communication and leadership abilities, including Spanish proficiencyExposure to maquila operations or international consolidation workCOMPENSATIONBase Salary Range of $120,000-$160,000, related to experience, qualifications and performanceSubsidized Multiple Health Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off, Holiday Days Off, 401k and Bonuses
