Rowland Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) with large animal experience to join our mixed animal practice!
This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy the variety of farm calls and large animal medicine alongside high-quality small animal in clinic care. The ideal candidate is confident working in the field, adaptable, and eager to apply advanced technical skills across species while building strong relationships with clients and their animals.
In this role, you will:
- Support veterinarians during large animal and farm-call appointments, including patient handling and restraint, assisting with field procedures, medication administration, and monitoring patient safety in non-hospital settings.
- Provide excellent patient care during small animal surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia induction and monitoring, patient prep and recovery, and dental cleanings and radiographs.
- Ensure efficient exam room workflow and outstanding client communication for small animal outpatient visits.
- Review treatment plans, provide discharge instructions, and address client questions with empathy and clarity.
Schedule: This is a full-time position, with a 4x10 schedule and availability needed MondayFriday. Beginning in Spring of 2026, occasional weekend hours will be added, with the team rotating weekend coverage.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $20 - 23 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Bonus package: up to $2000 for LVMTs and up to $500 for veterinary assistants based on experience
- CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure and licensure

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 2 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Large animal experience is required
- Current Veterinary Technician License in the state of Tennessee
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Large animal handling
- Anesthesia induction, maintenance, and monitoring
- Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
- Cystocentesis
- IV catheter placement, IV, IM, & SQ injections
- Assisting technicians and veterinarians during surgical procedures
