Veterinary Assistant

Rowland Veterinary Services is looking for a reliable, hands-on Veterinary Assistant to join our growing mixed-animal team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working primarily on the small animal side — from running efficient exam rooms to assisting in surgery — while occasionally supporting other areas of the practice as needed, and takes pride in delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

In this role, you will:

• Support veterinarians during small animal appointments, including running exam rooms, obtaining thorough patient histories, assisting with procedures, and monitoring patient safety
• Serve as a medical scribe during appointments, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation while helping maintain appointment flow
• Communicate with clients during check-ins and discharges with professionalism and empathy

Schedule: Full-time position offering a 4x10 schedule, Monday–Friday and rotating Saturday mornings.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $13-16 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Small animal patient restraint and handling
  • Oral medication administration
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Exam room scribe
  • Client communication
