Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our safety programs within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing effective training programs. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, particularly in the transportation sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with D.O.T. and Federal Highway Administration regulations and the Transportation industry's best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies.
- Provide training and development programs for employees and all commercial driver's on safety practices.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers' compensation law.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Implement and enforce all Local, State, and Federal Transportation rules and regulations.
- Being responsible for showing all commercial drivers how to operate the Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
- Hiring and qualifying all CDL drivers.
- Make sure they meet all Federal and State D.O.T. Requirements.
- Must be familiar with the Driver Consortium requirements and all other State and Federal agency requirements to drive a commercial vehicle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a safety management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of ELD (Electronic Logging Device) knowledge standards, all local, state, and federal agency requirements. worker's compensation law,
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in EHS or occupational health are preferred.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in conducting root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to develop training programs that enhance employee awareness of safety practices.

Base Pay: $48,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
