We are are a boutique sized kennel looking for compassionate positive people who want to grow with us! We offer daycare, boarding, grooming and a variety of activities for pets. We are looking for someone who has a passion for dogs and is willing to learn canine body language and gentle dog handling skills.
We are looking for seasonal/part time and possibly full time with split shift opportunities.
Hours varies from 6:30 am - 6pm. Holidays and weekend are required. School breaks ARE REQUIRED. We are currently in peak season and stay very busy during the summer months. Sometimes clients need to drop early/late as well.
Lots of cleaning is required when caring for dogs. You will be exposed to poop, pee and other bodily fluids.
Must be able to lift 50lbs and work with large and small dogs with various personalities.

Must be willing to learn canine body language to ensure the safety of all pets!
Must be willing to maintain cleanliness in kennel area in addition to leading play groups or 1 on 1 play with dogs.
Job duties will include:
- greeting guest with a smile and positive attitude
- checking pets in/out using GINGR
- rotating dogs in and out for potty breaks and play time
- monitoring play groups
- feeding/watering pets and giving medication
- bathing/blow drying pets
- cleaning kennels
- Cleaning lobby, groom rooms etc
- doggie dishes/laundry
- Treating every pet like they are your own!
- doing enrichment activities, 1 on 1 play and walks
MUST BE WILLING TO:
- learn canine body language
- be reliable and punctual
- work a semi flexible shift or split shifts including holiday and weekend
- work in all temperatures since we do outdoor play
- tolerate contact with bodily fluids and getting dirty frequently
- handle dogs of all sizes and personalities
- be cheerful and positive
- learn GINGR our boarding software
- have attention to detail especially documentation since we record medical information
- work independently
- take direction and learn
- love pets!!
Responsibilities:
- Once trained you will need to be able to work independently opening and closing
- You'll work all areas of Rowdy Hound including front ( check in/out and back boarding and daycare)
- A strong focus on dog handling as well as the cleanliness of the facility
- handle everything from potty breaks, group play, walks, games, feeding, giving meds, watering, bathing and assisting with nail trims, doing laundry and doggie dishes in addition to loving them like they are your own.
- make the dogs feel loved while their parents are away and creating a special bond/connection with them.
- give cuddles to the shy pups and monitor the wild and free pups.
- everyday we encounter cleaning up some poop and pee.
- you will go home with dog hair on you so I hope thats okay :)
- clean the dogs yards
- monitor dogs closely to ensure their safety and happy tails during play.
- ensure guest have all of their belongings when its time to pack up
- willing to do a variety of tasks!
