Wallace – Custodian
REPORTS TO: Director of Construction
PURPOSE: The Custodian performs a variety of cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance duties to ensure the building and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness according to established procedures and schedules, assisting with room setups, and supporting overall facility operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required
· Previous custodial or facility maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to safely operate custodial equipment used in routine cleaning
· Basic knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. as needed
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Clean and sanitize building areas daily and as needed
· Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
· Clean, disinfect, and maintain restrooms
· Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers and burnishers
· Ensure building entrances and surrounding grounds are cleared of debris daily
· Check fire extinguishers, exit signs, and emergency lighting as part of routine safety
inspections
· Maintain custodial equipment in proper working condition
· Assist with room setups and breakdowns for meetings and events
· Clean and sanitize building areas daily and as needed

· Serve as the assigned custodian for the Maintenance Department, rotating weekly with other
custodial staff

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
Salary : $3 - $2,785
