The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Accounting Technician III - Accounts Payable. This position requires advanced or specialized technician accounting work requiring the application of accepted rules of accounting to a variety of procedural and substantive guides to determine courses of action, including but not limited to maintaining the disbursement of accounts including encumbering of purchases, auditing of invoices, preparing vouchers, posting, reconciling, and preparing other necessary reports; maintaining the vendor files, including but not limited to the creation of p-card and purchasing vendors, and address updates and corrections; training and assisting departments for invoice entry, department allocations, and any other accounts payable transactions; and assisting with weekly and manual check runs including but not limited to the creation and reconciliation of the cash requirements report and preliminary check reports.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires considerable knowledge of the application of established accounting principles, practices, and techniques to standardized accounting transactions; considerable knowledge of established governmental and departmental budgeting and bookkeeping practices and procedures; ability to understand, interpret, and apply the laws and regulations governing the maintenance of financial records; and ability to prepare fiscal reports and analyses of financial statements.
Minimum qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and two years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work; or graduation from high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and four years experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid driver’s license may be required.
