Job Title: PT Animal Enforcement Officer I/II- #1055-1 Application Dates: Open Until Filled Salary Range/Pay Rate: $18.65 - $22.62
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of PT Animal Enforcement Officer I/II to patrol designated areas of the County enforcing state and local laws relating to pet ownership, animal nuisance, animal cruelty, dangerous or wild animals, exotic pets, animal bites, rabies suspects, livestock and farm animals, wildlife and other regulations related to Animal Control; notes violations of animal control laws, issues citations, and apprehends diseased, vicious, or unwanted animals; sets traps and transports animals to the animal shelter; assists in euthanizing stray and rabid animals; explains the animal control laws of the County and State; assists visitors in picking up their animals and in adopting animals; and maintains records and prepares reports as needed. Work hours will not exceed 999 hours per calendar year. Scheduled work days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Requires a thorough knowledge of the geographical layout of the County; considerable knowledge of methods of caring for confined small and large animals; knowledge of rabies and rabies control; ability to prepare routine reports and maintain related records; ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe, efficient manner; and the ability to deal with the general public in a tactful, courteous, and firm manner.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires high school diploma, experience as a security officer or related law enforcement role, or experience in handling small domestic animals and large animals, and a valid driver’s license for PT Animal Enforcement Officer I or graduation from high school or GED equivalency, two years of experience as an Animal Enforcement Officer, and a valid driver's license for PT Animal Enforcement Officer II.
