We are seeking an Account Executive based in either Syracuse, Rochester, or the Western Central New York region to drive new business growth, expand dispensary distribution, and oversee a broader sales territory throughout New York State. This is a strategic sales role for a highly motivated, results-driven professional with a deep understanding of the cannabis industry and a proven track record of acquiring and growing retail partnerships.
The Account Executive will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with dispensaries, ensuring a seamless transition of new accounts to the account management team, and supporting operational and marketing initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate understands the unique dynamics of the New York cannabis market and is passionate about introducing top-tier products to consumers across the state.

Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Identify, target, and acquire new dispensary and retail partners to expand Rove’s footprint across New York.
- Territory Growth: Develop and execute strategies to increase market share throughout Central and Western NY, with a focus on Syracuse and Rochester.
- Sales Execution: Generate leads, schedule and conduct meetings, and close deals with prospective retail partners.
- Smooth Account Handover: Work closely with the account management team to ensure successful onboarding of new accounts.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with dispensary owners and decision-makers to drive long-term partnerships.
- Operational Flexibility: Step in to support marketing initiatives, in-store events, or logistics where needed.
- Customer Insight: Understand retail partner challenges and offer tailored solutions through Rove’s product offerings.
- Sales KPIs: Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Market Research: Monitor local competition, track market trends, and identify emerging opportunities in New York's cannabis space.
- Event Participation: Represent Rove at local trade shows, vendor days, and cannabis-related events throughout New York.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (marketing, logistics, operations) to ensure account success.
- CRM Management: Log all sales activities, leads, and communications in the company’s CRM system.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3–5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in cannabis or regulated CPG industries.
- Strong understanding of the New York cannabis market and its regulatory environment.
- Existing relationships within New York dispensaries is a major plus.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and results-driven.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with extensive travel within the assigned territory (100 mile radius).
- Proficient with CRM systems, sales forecasting, and reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience.
- Performance Incentive: Bonus and/or 2.5% of gross revenue from new accounts you bring in.
