Manufacturing Process Engineer – Automation Development Path

Manufacturing Process Engineer Opportunity :
- Join a well-established manufacturer with significant engineering investment
- Work across machining, grinding, heat treat and assembly to improve quality and throughput
- Lead continuous improvement, tooling and fixture upgrades, and process development initiatives
- Identify opportunities for automation and assist in implementation alongside a dedicated Automation Engineer
- Develop automation skills over time – robotics, PLC fundamentals, controls, and system integration
- Clear progression available across the wider group
Manufacturing Process Engineer Responsibilities :
- Support and develop manufacturing processes, ensuring repeatability and reduced variation
- Create, revise and release manufacturing plans, routings, and work instructions
- Drive lean and CI initiatives across production
- Lead small to mid-scale engineering projects from concept through completion
- Partner with quality, machining, automation, and NPI teams on process improvements
- Identify automation opportunities and participate in the design, testing and commissioning of solutions
- Provide hands-on support on the shop floor and resolve technical issues promptly
Manufacturing Process Engineer Qualifications:
- Experience in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering within a machining or precision manufacturing environment
- Strong foundation in tooling, fixturing, process development, and documentation
- Comfort working on the floor with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
- Exposure to Lean, CI or process improvement methods
- Interest in developing automation and robotics capabilities (Robotics/PLC experience is a plus)
- 3D CAD experience preferred (SolidWorks/Inventor or similar)

Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
