What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Modeling Engineer position at Round-Peg Solutions (RPS)?
Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer | Mission Analysis
Tucson, Arizona
$140,000 – $200,000 Pre-IPO Equity Relocation Assistance Outstanding Benefits
U.S. Citizenship Required
Model the engagement. Find the limits. Influence what gets built.
Are you a Modeling & Simulation Engineer who enjoys using physics, simulation and data to solve complex aerospace problems? Have you modelled missiles, interceptors, aircraft, autonomous vehicles or other dynamic systems? Do you want your analysis to influence the design and performance of hardware that moves rapidly from simulation into real-world testing? If so, this opportunity may be the right next step for you.
This fast-growing defence technology organisation is developing advanced autonomous systems designed to operate in complex, time-critical environments. Engineers work in small multidisciplinary teams where technical decisions happen quickly and modelling isn't an after-the-fact validation exercise.
Your simulations will help answer fundamental questions around range, trajectory, engagement performance, system limitations and mission effectiveness before committing to hardware.
The Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer will develop physics-based simulations and mission analyses that directly influence system architecture, engineering trade-offs and future product development.
As the Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer your responsibilities will include
- Developing physics-based and 6-DOF simulations of missiles, interceptors and autonomous aerospace systems
- Modelling trajectories, engagements and system performance across realistic operational scenarios
- Performing Monte Carlo analysis, sensitivity studies and engineering trade studies to identify performance drivers
- Building Python-based simulation, analysis and visualisation tools that enable engineers to explore complex system behaviour
- Turning simulation results into clear recommendations that influence system architecture, requirements and hardware development
As the Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer you will bring
- Experience in modeling & simulation, mission analysis, flight performance or aerospace system analysis
- Strong Python programming, numerical modelling and scientific computing capability
- Experience with 6-DOF simulation, Monte Carlo methods, dynamic systems or physics-based modelling
- Understanding of flight dynamics, trajectories, missile performance, engagement analysis or autonomous vehicles
- The ability to turn complex technical analysis into actionable engineering decisions
Experience with missiles, interceptors or weapons systems is highly valuable but not essential. Strong candidates from aircraft, UAVs, spacecraft, GNC, flight sciences, autonomy or other high-performance dynamic systems are encouraged to apply.
The Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer will work alongside GNC, software, systems and hardware engineers with genuine ownership over the analysis that determines how future systems should perform.
Rather than spending years analysing an established product, you'll be able to ask “what if?”, build the simulation, test the idea and see the results feed directly into engineering and hardware decisions.
With $140,000–$200,000 base salary, meaningful pre-IPO equity, relocation assistance and outstanding benefits, the Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer will join a rapidly expanding engineering team with opportunities to progress towards Principal Engineer and technical leadership.
All successful applicants will be contacted within two working days.
Salary : $140,000 - $200,000
