Where You Will Work Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. Visit the Morenci town website to learn more. ## What You Will Do * Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects. * Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion, or modifications. * Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations. * Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas. * Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests. * May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. * May represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams. * Perform other duties as required. ## What You Bring To Freeport * Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years of related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR * Master's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering or related field * Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering * Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. * Skill in managing large/complex Engineering projects. * Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written. * Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement. * Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. * Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. ## Preferred Qualifications * Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification * Supervisory Experience What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $97,500-$138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
