What are the responsibilities and job description for the Modeling Engineer position at Round-Peg Solutions (RPS)?
Senior Mission Analysis & Modeling Engineer
Tucson, Arizona
$140,000 – $200,000 Pre-IPO Equity Relocation Assistance Outstanding Benefits
U.S. Citizenship Required
Shape missile and autonomous system performance before hardware ever reaches the field.
Are you a Mission Analysis or Modeling & Simulation Engineer with experience supporting missiles, interceptors, weapons systems or autonomous platforms? Do you enjoy using physics, simulation and data to understand how systems will perform in real-world engagements? Do you want your analysis to directly influence system architecture, product development and mission effectiveness? If so, this opportunity may be the right next step for you.
This engineering-led organisation is developing next-generation defence technologies that combine advanced sensing, autonomous systems and high-performance air vehicles. Engineers work in small, multidisciplinary teams where modelling and simulation directly influence major engineering decisions. Rather than analysing mature systems after they have been designed, you'll help determine what gets built and how it should perform.
The Senior Mission Analysis & Modeling Engineer will develop high-fidelity simulations and operational analyses supporting missile systems, interceptors and autonomous platforms, directly influencing system performance and future product development.
As the Senior Mission Analysis & Modeling Engineer your responsibilities will include
- Developing mission-level, physics-based and Six Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) simulations
- Modelling missile, interceptor and autonomous system performance across realistic engagement scenarios
- Performing Monte Carlo analysis, trade studies and mission effectiveness assessments
- Building Python-based simulation, modelling, data analysis and visualisation tools
- Using quantitative analysis to influence system architecture and engineering decisions
- Presenting technical findings and recommendations to multidisciplinary engineering teams
As the Senior Mission Analysis & Modeling Engineer you will bring
- Experience within missile systems, weapons analysis, autonomous platforms, aerospace or defence modelling and simulation
- Strong Python programming and scientific computing capability
- Experience with 6-DOF simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, physics-based modelling or mission-level analysis
- Strong understanding of system performance, flight dynamics or engagement analysis
- Excellent analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex simulation results into engineering decisions
The Senior Mission Analysis & Modeling Engineer will have genuine influence over how next-generation defence systems are designed, evaluated and ultimately deployed. You'll work alongside highly capable missile, autonomy, software and systems engineers while tackling complex mission-level problems with significant technical ownership.
Alongside meaningful pre-IPO equity, relocation assistance and outstanding benefits, this role offers the opportunity to progress towards Principal Engineer or technical leadership while helping develop advanced systems that move rapidly from concept into operational capability.
All successful applicants will be contacted within two working days.
Salary : $140,000 - $210,000
