About the role Are you a CNC Programmer with deep experience in aerospace manufacturing, multi-axis milling and turning, and tight-tolerance precision work? Do you have a strong command of CAM software and a track record of supporting first-article inspections and AS9100 quality standards? Responsibilities
- Develop complex CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software (Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360)
- Set up and operate CNC equipment to manufacture aerospace components to tight tolerances
- Interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job
- Perform first-article inspections (FAIs) and ensure parts meet AS9100 quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production staff to optimize processes and ensure compliance
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in real time
- Maintain documentation, setup sheets, and revision history per aerospace regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications Minimum 5 years of CNC programming and setup experience in aerospace manufacturing.
Required skills
- Proficiency in G-code and CAM software (Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360)
- Strong understanding of aerospace standards including AS9100, FAA, and NADCAP requirements
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and CMM reports
- Familiarity with multi-axis machining, tight tolerances (±.0002"), and exotic materials (Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum alloys)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Preferred skills
- Experience with Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and DNC networks
- Knowledge of SPC and lean/5S methodologies
- Experience with tooling optimization and cycle time reduction
