The Role
We’re hiring a Sales Lead to own new business development and key-account growth across agencies, studios, brands, and producers. You’ll build and manage a healthy pipeline, lead bids from discovery through award, and partner closely with estimating, drafting, and production to hand off profitable, executable jobs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute a go-to-market plan across live events, entertainment, experiential, and retail/display verticals.
- Prospect, qualify, and nurture relationships with agencies, producers, studios, brands, and production companies; convert inbound and referral opportunities.
- Lead discovery, scope definition, and pricing; coordinate with estimating and PM to create proposals/SOWs, schedules, and value-engineered options.
- Own RFP/RFQ responses, bid reviews, client presentations, and negotiations through close.
- Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, forecast revenue, and report on pipeline, hit rates, and margin performance.
- Partner with project management to ensure clean handoffs and support change orders and upsell opportunities.
- Represent the company at site walks, shop tours, and industry events; travel as needed (mostly local).
- 5–10 years in sales or business development within scenic fabrication, event production, exhibit/trade show, custom millwork/metal, or related environments.
- A network of decision-makers at agencies, studios, or brands—and a track record of closing multi-stakeholder, deadline-driven projects.
- Strong grasp of how projects are built: ability to read drawings, discuss materials/process (CNC, metal, paint, graphics), and collaborate with production/PM.
- Commercial acumen: pricing, margin management, and value engineering that protects quality and schedule.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; disciplined, metrics-oriented approach.
