Welder - 2nd Shift

Grow your career with Rotochopper! We’re hiring Welders on our second shift. As a Welder, you are a key team member in creating parts for our grinding equipment. This position is responsible for fitting and welding steels parts using MIG welding process and responsible for welding and assembling parts to specification using blueprints.

Hours: 4:00pm – 2:30am, Monday – Thursday

            OFF, Friday

            PLUS $2.00 shift premium        

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, square and secure parts, and assemblies prior to welding.
• Weld and fabricate steel components using fixturing, work instructions and blueprints.
• Manually lift raw materials, final products and items packed for shipment and be able to operate over head cranes effectively for any item over 50 pounds.
• Operate various machines and tools used in the production process.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies and quality standards.

 qualifications

• Completed welding degree from a vocational or technical college, considered an asset.
• Experience is preferred, but also accepting entry level applicants with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements and instructions.
• Good communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be present on the job to safely perform the assigned duties. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Employee will go extended periods of time standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• The employee will also be required to stand; walk; use hand dexterity; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk and hear.
• Work conditions include non-climate controlled industrial environment with moving equipment, manufacturing machines, and welders, along with overhead cranes.
