You will help develop local plumbers, improve the customer experience, and build a strong, dependable service team serving homes and businesses throughout the Eugene-Springfield community.

Eugene offers a strong sense of community, easy access to the outdoors, and a great quality of life in the heart of the Willamette Valley. This position is ideal for an experienced plumbing professional looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with room to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the daily operations of our Eugene plumbing service team.
  • Manage plumbers, drain technicians, apprentices, helpers, and field employees.
  • Coordinate schedules and job assignments throughout Eugene, Springfield, and surrounding Lane County communities.
  • Ensure urgent plumbing, sewer, drain, water heater, mainline, and water-loss calls receive prompt attention.
  • Support technicians with difficult diagnoses and complex plumbing problems.
  • Visit job sites to inspect work, provide technical assistance, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Review plumbing repairs, water heater installations, repipes, sewer replacements, drain cleaning, excavation, and commercial projects.
  • Ensure work complies with Oregon plumbing codes, permit requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Review estimates, invoices, job notes, photographs, and project documentation.
  • Help technicians communicate clearly with customers and provide appropriate repair and replacement options.
  • Monitor productivity, workmanship, close rates, average ticket, callback rates, customer reviews, and attendance.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, safety discussions, and technical training.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop local plumbers and apprentices.
  • Perform ride-alongs and provide hands-on field coaching.
  • Create a positive workplace built around teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Address employee performance and customer-service concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Help resolve escalated customer concerns and protect the company’s reputation in the local community.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels based on seasonal demand and service needs.
  • Coordinate service vehicle assignments, maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Oversee tools, equipment, materials, and warehouse inventory.
  • Ensure service vehicles are clean, organized, properly stocked, and ready for work.
  • Manage sewer cameras, drain machines, hydro-jetters, pumps, and excavation equipment.
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct job-site inspections.
  • Review open estimates and ensure customers receive timely follow-up.
  • Assist with commercial job walks, estimating, and local business development.
  • Build relationships with homeowners, property managers, contractors, and commercial customers.
  • Monitor labor costs, material expenses, overtime, fuel usage, and department profitability.
  • Reduce callbacks, warranty work, unnecessary overtime, and wasted materials.
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, employee retention, and revenue.
  • Participate in an on-call management rotation when necessary.
  • Provide hands-on plumbing support when operationally needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current and valid Oregon Journeyman Plumber License.
  • At least five years of professional plumbing experience.
  • Previous experience leading plumbers, technicians, apprentices, or skilled-trade employees.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of Oregon plumbing codes, permits, inspections, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to diagnose complex plumbing, sewer, drain, and water-service problems.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
  • Experience reviewing estimates, job costs, invoices, labor performance, and operating reports.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass applicable background, motor vehicle, and drug screening requirements.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency hours when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Oregon Supervising Plumber License.
  • Experience managing a plumbing, drain-cleaning, excavation, or home-service business.
  • Experience with sewer cameras, hydro-jetting, excavation, trenchless repair, water mitigation, or commercial plumbing.
  • Experience with scheduling, dispatching, estimating, or field-service software.
  • OSHA, excavation safety, confined-space, backflow, or other industry certifications.
  • Experience managing fleet operations, inventory, budgets, labor costs, and profitability.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of $70,000–$100,000, depending on qualifications, licensing, experience, and management background.
  • Potential performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Retirement plan.
  • Company-provided phone, tablet, uniforms, and necessary equipment.

  • Career advancement opportunities.
  • Stable, year-round work in the Eugene-Springfield area.
