The Rothswell Agency LLC is, amongst others, a New York insurance agency. We are building our life and health business alongside our property and casualty book, with producers who own their client relationships and are paid directly for the revenue they bring in.

The Role

We are hiring a senior health producer to write and grow individual, family and small group health business in New York.

Responsibilities

·       Write individual and family health coverage, including Affordable Care Act marketplace plans, and small group health plans for employers.

·       Explain plan networks, deductibles, subsidies and total cost to clients, and help them choose the right coverage.

·       Handle open enrollment, special enrollment periods and plan changes in line with carrier and regulatory requirements.

·       Build referral relationships with employers, benefits consultants and community organizations in the New York metropolitan area.

·       Service in-force accounts, including enrollment changes, billing questions and renewals.

·       Keep client records accurate and current in the agency management system.

Qualifications

·       At least 5 years of health insurance experience, with a focus on individual or small group production or account management.

·       Working knowledge of ACA marketplace rules, carrier networks and small group plan design.

·       A track record of new business production and client retention.

·       Active New York accident and health producer license, or the ability to obtain it before your start date.

·       Proficiency in an agency management system (for example Applied Epic or AMS360).

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a patient approach to complex plan decisions.

Compensation

·       Base salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, W2, based on experience and book of business. The range is the range the agency in good faith expects to pay for this role.

·       Senior producer profit share: senior producers receive 50% of all revenue they generate for the agency. The calculation, payment schedule and definitions are set out in the producer agreement.

·       Paid training and trial period: before W2 employment begins, candidates complete a one-month structured training program and a one-month trial period, each paid at [$2,000 net] per month. W2 employment and base salary begin after the trial period.
