Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
- License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York OR Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York, an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and certified by an accredited institution as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; or
- Equivalent experience gained by the completion of technical training as an Ultrasound Technologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or an approved school or training institution may be substituted for the above experience requirement.
- As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of their appointment to this title.
- Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
