POSITION: Elementary Intervention Specialist | Rossford Elementary School
Rossford Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Elementary Intervention Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year. Position Overview
The Elementary Intervention Specialist provides special education services and instructional support to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The intervention specialist works closely with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and monitor instruction through co-teaching and inclusive practices, and ensures compliance with all legal and procedural requirements related to special education services.
Qualifications

Valid State of Ohio K–12 Intervention Specialist Licensure

Strong organization and communication skills
-
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practices, co-teaching, and collaborating with teachers to adapt coursework

Experience developing and implementing IEPs and supporting student behavior needs (FBA/BIP)

Experience with Ohio's Extended Learning Standards (OLS-E) preferred; training in research-based reading instruction preferred
Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Student Achievement

Provide specially designed instruction aligned to student needs and IEP goals

Support student progress through data-informed planning and ongoing progress monitoring

Implement accommodations and modifications to ensure meaningful access to the general education curriculum
Co-Teaching, Inclusion & Collaboration

Collaborate closely with general education teachers to plan instruction, adapt materials, and deliver supports with an emphasis on co-teaching and inclusive practices

Partner with related service providers and support staff to ensure coordinated services for students
IEP Development & Compliance

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and documentation in accordance with state and federal requirements

Participate in IEP meetings and communicate clearly with families regarding student progress and services
Behavioral & Student Support Systems

Support behavioral interventions, including development and implementation of functional behavioral assessments and behavior improvement plans, as appropriate

Promote a safe, respectful learning environment and support students’ social-emotional and academic growth
Professional Responsibilities
