Quality Control Inspector CNC Machine Shop

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector specializing in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining within a dynamic machine shop environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machined parts meet strict quality standards and technical specifications. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our manufacturing processes, uphold industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with precision measurement tools, interpret complex blueprints, and ensure the highest quality in aerospace or manufacturing applications.

Duties

• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) including PC-DMIS programming.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections of machined components produced on CNC machines, ensuring adherence to quality standards like ASME codes & standards and industry-specific requirements such as AS9100.
• Utilize ERP software such as ProShop to review design files and support tooling or fixture adjustments as needed for precision measurement.
• Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to production teams for immediate corrective action if necessary.
• Support calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance with AS9100 standards.
• Assist in root cause analysis of quality issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and quality assurance procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality control within a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment, preferably with aerospace or medical device industries.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, and relevant codes & standards.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, GD&T principles, and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools.
• Familiarity with CMM programming and operation; experience with PC-DMIS software is highly desirable but not necessary.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling setups, schematics, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
• Excellent attention to detail with decent math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
