Position Summary
Ross Local School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Intervention Specialist to join the Ross Middle School team. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades 5-8, collaborate with general education staff, and ensure compliance with all special education requirements. The ideal candidate will foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and student independence while maintaining strong partnerships with families and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License
- Knowledge of Ohio special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Successful completion of all required background checks
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and intervention services to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student achievement and inclusion
- Participate in evaluation team meetings, annual reviews, and other special education processes
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and related service providers regarding student progress and needs
- Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development within the school environment
