Summary:
Ross Industries Inc. is the world leader and manufacturer of commercial food processing and packaging equipment.
The Engineering Manager is a senior leadership role and will drive the design of new machines and features for
existing equipment. The incumbent will direct and oversee management of the Process and Packaging Engineering
teams as well as Research and Development activities and ensure schedules are met with quality and within cost
objectives. The role priorities: leadership, process improvement, problem resolution, project management,
employee mentoring and training, as well as assisting with the overall company direction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and directs engineering team and other departments to ensure cohesion between units and
- Take the lead on the development group consisting of senior management and assist senior staff members
- Develop engineering plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure
- Perform research, design and development of engineering process including process improvement, cost
- Coordinate engineering launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team
- Design, develop, and test/and/or source and cost justify various tools, machines and equipment.
- Apply statistical methods and perform produce/process analysis for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing techniques, process and procedures.
- Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Effectively communicate with others including other
professional manner in communicating and working with others.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate must mechanically engineer design principles and methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership ability. Must be proficient using Solid Works and ability to model in 3D.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented
- Must be able to visit customer locations to include meat processing divisions, withstand extreme cold and
- Comprehensive machine design experience in food processing/packaging equipment.
- Ability to ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality OSHA,

- Exposure to CE and OSHA guarding
- Working knowledge of machinery design for the food industry is a plus.
Education and Training:
- BS in Engineering 10 years of experience Engineering including hands on management.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, utilizing manufacturing-based technology, process,
- Proficient in Solidworks.
