Key Responsibilities
- Equipment & Structural Repair: Repair cracks, structural damage, and worn components on frames, booms, buckets, trailers, and heavy construction equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers).
- Pressure Systems & Utilities: Weld and repair underground utilities, pressure vessels, and pressurized piping systems, including water mains and steam lines.
- Custom Fabrication: Fabricate, assemble, modify, and install brackets, supports, platforms, guards, railings, and other custom job-site materials.
- Technical Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and repair plans. Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and thick plate steel.
- Preparation & Finishing: Cut, grind, gouge, and prep materials for welding. Apply hardfacing to high-wear components as needed.
- Safety & Maintenance: Follow all company, job-site, and OSHA safety requirements while maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean, organized shop environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3 years of welding experience (heavy equipment or construction environment preferred).
- Certifications: Current welder certification from a recognized authority (such as AWS) and the ability to pass a practical weld test.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes with strong fabrication, fitting, layout, cutting, and measuring skills.
- Physical Demands: Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces within a physically demanding environment.
- Logistics: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
