The HR Operations Specialist executes the work that requires system expertise, compliance knowledge, and independent judgment. You are the person the Admins escalate to, and the person who ensures transactions are processed accurately before they touch payroll, legal, or the employee record. This role requires a strong understanding of HR processes, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Payroll, Benefits & Leave Processing
- Process complex payroll transactions including garnishments, final checks, officer medical, tuition reimbursement, and payroll corrections; partner with Payroll on escalated issues
- Manage benefits life event processing, troubleshooting, and vendor portal administration; serve as the escalation point for benefits questions the Admin team cannot resolve
- Own leave case management including LOA documentation, FMLA eligibility tracking, workers compensation, and coordination with HRBPs and payroll
Workday Transactions & Data Integrity
- Process complex Workday transactions including hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, promotions, job changes, and position management
- Review and audit transactions for accuracy; identify and correct errors before they create downstream impact in payroll or reporting
- Manage the Workday inbox and ServiceNow ticket queue for complex cases requiring system access or compliance judgment
Compliance, Legal & ER Support
- Support ER documentation, investigation coordination, and accommodation request processing in partnership with the HR Ops Lead, HRBPs, and Legal
- Manage H1-B immigration case coordination and attorney communication; maintain compliance with all filing deadlines
- Compile and manage personnel records for legal requests, ensuring appropriate handling and custodian sign-off
Vendor, Contingent Worker & Total Rewards Administration
- Process vendor invoices, manage the contingent worker tracker, and support CW onboarding and offboarding in Workday
- Administer total rewards programs including referral bonuses, service awards, car allowance, and ESOP processing
- Conduct recurring compliance and data audits across payroll, I-9s, onboarding, leave, and Workday data quality
Learning & Development Support
- Deliver HR-related training, manage training assignments in Workday, and track and report training compliance
- Support ROOT program facilitation and L&D event coordination

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 2–4 years of experience in an HR operations, HRIS, or HR coordinator role
- Strong Workday HCM experience — transaction processing, data entry, and reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge of leave administration, payroll processes, and benefits operations
- Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and applicable state leave laws
- Strong attention to detail; you understand that errors in this role have real downstream consequences
- Ability to manage multiple active cases and transactions simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
- High professional discretion when handling sensitive employee, legal, and compliance matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; combination of education and experience accepted
