We are working with a mid-sized Hospitality Company in Livermore, CA who is seeking an HR Manager with a passion around Training and Compliance!

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our human resources function, with a strong focus on compliance, employee relations, leadership development, recruiting, and workforce management. This onsite leadership role partners closely with managers across the organization to ensure employment practices are legally compliant, consistent, and aligned with company values.
The HR Manager serves as the primary resource for HR guidance, helping leaders navigate employee issues, mitigate risk, and build a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This position also collaborates with external HR partners, legal counsel, and recruiting resources to support the organization's people strategy.
Highlights:
- Position requires the ability to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule. Some evenings to shadow events will be required during the first 6-months for training/employee development
- Organization uses a PEO to outsource benefits, payroll, workers compensation and most compliance
- 5-days onsite in their Livermore, CA location
- Salary $85-$105K (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with emphasis on California employment regulations.
- Interpret and apply HR policies and employment practices consistently.
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, disciplinary actions, accommodations, leave administration, and conflict resolution.
- Monitor employment law changes and recommend policy and process improvements.
- Support workplace safety programs and required compliance training.
Leadership Development & Training
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver management and supervisor training programs.
- Coach leaders on performance management, documentation, communication, and employee engagement.
- Create tools and resources that improve leadership effectiveness and consistency across the organization.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify ongoing development opportunities.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and staffing initiatives.
- Partner with department leaders to identify hiring needs and workforce planning strategies.
- Support candidate selection, interviewing, and retention initiatives.
- Monitor staffing trends and recommend solutions to improve employee retention and organizational effectiveness.
HR Operations
- Partner with external HR consultants, legal counsel, and recruiting vendors as needed.
- Assist with HR audits, policy updates, and compliance reporting.
- Promote consistent HR practices and serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including HR compliance, employee relations, recruiting, training, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting a workforce with predominantly non-exempt employees.
- Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experience in hospitality, events, food service, or other fast-paced service industries is preferred.
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
