Position Overview: Estate Planning Attorney
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Estate Planning Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of estate planning experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping individuals and families plan for the future, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and is eager to grow with a firm that values both professional excellence and work-life balance.
Location and Work Schedule
- Location: 777 Passaic Ave., Clifton, New Jersey. Our office is conveniently located close to all major highways.
- Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 40-50 hours per week in office
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $150,000-$200,000
- Performance-Based Bonus: Up to 25% of base salary
- Origination: 25% of all personally originated matters (excludes firm-generated leads).
- Benefits: Hybrid-remote, PTO, health insurance, 401k/profit sharing, et al.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultations & Communication
- Meet with clients to understand their goals, explain estate planning options clearly and then sign them up.
- Maintain excellent communication throughout the client lifecycle to ensure a smooth and positive experience
Workshop & Seminar Participation
- Present law firm-hosted workshops, seminars, and community events related to estate planning (we provide the content and training)
- Assist in educating prospective clients on estate planning fundamentals in a professional and approachable manner
Client Relationship Building
- Develop rapport and long-term relationships with clients through responsiveness, empathy, and attention to detail
- Provide ongoing support to clients post-signing as needed
Collaboration & Learning
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure quality and efficient case handling
- Stay current on developments in estate planning and elder law through training, CLEs, and mentorship
- Build and expand service offerings, identifying opportunities to enhance and expand the firm’s estate planning services to meet evolving client needs while increasing revenue and scalability.
Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in New Jersey; admission to New York and/or Pennsylvania is a plus
- At least 3 years of experience focused on estate planning
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- A compassionate, client-first approach and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- A team player with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset
