Rosenberger is an innovative global leader in radio frequency technology with an international presence. Our products are used in wireless technology, telecom, test & measurement, automotive, medical, military, industrial and data systems. We are currently seeking a Machinist/Tool Maker to join our team in Akron, PA.
The Machinist/Tool Maker is responsible for the programming, setup, and operation of 3 axis milling, and EDM machines. S/he will utilize support machinery such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, EDM, heat treating ovens, sandblasters, and laser engravers to complete necessary manufacturing processes. In-process inspections, program improvements, maintaining and controlling tooling used in production will also be required. The Machinist Tool Maker is expected to work according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Setup and Operation of machines
- Perform inspection of parts utilizing standard shop measuring equipment. Hand tools, comparators, video measuring system, etc.
- Familiarity with Cam Software - MasterCam is a plus
- Develop/suggest process improvements
- Work with close tolerances (.0001)
- Maintain tooling used in production
- Work with metric and inch measurements
- Willing to work overtime when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Associates Degree or 5 years of experience as a machinist/tool maker
- High school graduate required
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, including GD&T
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve program and machining issues
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time wisely
- Encouraging to team and staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- General Passion for creative problem solving
Preferred:
- Post-secondary technical education preferred.
