What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher/Assistant Teacher position at Roselyn North Academy?
Roselyn North Academy is growing, and we are excited to welcome new educators to our Saco team.
We are currently hiring Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Floaters to work with infants through Pre-K in warm, supportive, relationship-focused classrooms. If you love working with children and want to feel appreciated, supported, and respected at work, we would love to meet you!
Whether you are experienced or newer to the field, we provide mentorship, training, and a collaborative team environment where educators help one another succeed.
Compensation
- $18–$23 per hour based on experience and Maine Roads To Quality level
- Monthly wage grant stipend up to $540 based on MRTQ level (in addition to hourly pay)
- Many of our teachers earn significantly more than base pay alone due to the stipend program.

What You’ll Do
- Build nurturing relationships with children and families
- Support engaging, play-based learning experiences
- Collaborate with a supportive teaching team
- Help create a classroom where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Communicate with families using Brightwheel
- Follow licensing and safety standards
- Lead Teachers also guide curriculum planning and classroom organization.
- Floaters provide valuable support across classrooms and gain experience with multiple age groups.
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Experience working with children preferred (we are willing to train the right candidate)
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, positive, and child-focused mindset
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
